Interview for MEXT scholarship

Overseas interviews will be opened to Master and PhD scholarship candidates for "International Program for Developing the Sustainable River Basin-Social System Corresponding to Social and Environmental Changes" in University of Yamanashi, which is selected as the "International Priority Graduate Program (PGP) -Advanced Graduate Courses for International Students-" supported by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of Japan. This course is managed by world-leading researchers on environmental sciences, medicine, economics and informatics, and covers a wide range of study fields required for practical resolution of region-specific environmental issues.

    Tentative Schedule
  • Place & Date: Online (zoom)
    • Feb 6th and 8th@@Interview for the Master course applicants
    • Feb 8th and 9th@@Interview for the PhD course applicants
  • Interview: Presentation on research achievements and future plan for 10 min, Q&A for 20-30 10 min
  • Enrollment: October 2023
  • Deadline of application: All the forms should be sent via e-mail by 19th Jan. 2023 (closed)
  • Individual interview time will be informed via official email very soon for the applicants who pass the 1st screening.

Master course

  • Number of scholarship awardees: Three
  • Enrollment: October 2023 (scholarship for the next two years)
  • Qualifications: (i) Bachelor degree/equivalent, (ii) under 35 years old at the time of enrollment, (iii) GPA over 2.3 out of 3.0, (iv) English score over B2 level in CEFR (after Jan 2021), or graduation from bachelor course taught in English, (v) experience/enthusiasm on water sciences & management
    Electric files are acceptable for the 1st screening.

    2. Diplomas or certificates of Bachelor degree
    3. Academic transcripts of undergraduate school
    4. Documents that certify academic achievement of the latest academic period (such as GPA, placement and specific ranking)
    5. Bachelor Thesis Abstract (as the attachment of application form)
    6. Photocopy of passport
    7. Score record of English test (after Jan 2021)
    8. Curriculum vitae

PhD course

  • Number of scholarship awardees: Two Three
  • Enrollment: October 2023 (scholarship for the next three years)
  • Qualifications: (i) Master degree/equivalent, (ii) under 35 years old at the time of enrollment, (iii) GPA over 2.3 out of 3.0, (iv) English score over B2 level in CEFR (after Jan 2021), or graduation from master course taught in English, (v) experience/enthusiasm on water sciences & management
